Die-cutters and folder-gluers: checks that prevent waste and downtime
The points to keep under control in folding-carton production: register, pressure, transport, glue and sensors.
In folding-carton production many problems start with small deviations: a worn gripper, uneven pressure, a partly blocked glue nozzle. The result is waste, downtime and complaints. These are the checks that make the difference.
Die-cutter
- Gripper bars and chains: wear, tension, alignment.
- Cutting pressure and uniformity across the format, checked on test sheets.
- Sheet-to-die register: side and front lays, sensors.
- Stripping and blanking stations: settings and cleaning.
- Lubrication and temperatures of the main units.
Folder-gluer
- Transport belts: wear and correct tension.
- Glue system: nozzle cleaning, pressure and dosage.
- Alignment of folding and pre-folding sections.
- Sensors and in-line quality control.
- Delivery and press section: correct pressure and time for the glue to set.
When to call a technician
New noises, waste rising for no obvious reason, recurring alarms or settings that will not hold are signs not to postpone. A planned job on chains, grippers or the glue system costs far less than a stop during an important order.
On REPANOW you will find technicians specialising in die-cutters and folder-gluers and can state brand, model and problem directly in the request.
